Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
Who we are
TrendsOnLinked ("we", "us") operates this website. For the purposes of the GDPR we act as a data controller, and under the DPDP Act as a Data Fiduciary. Contact: [your email].
What we collect and why
We deliberately collect very little:
- The LinkedIn post URLs you submit, and the public video metadata we retrieve for them (title, author name, thumbnail). This is needed to provide the download and to build the public library.
- A one-way hashed, salted version of your IP address — not your actual IP — used only to apply the daily download limit and to keep audit records. It cannot be reversed to identify you.
- Basic request data (browser user-agent) for security and abuse prevention.
- Your cookie choices, stored so we can honour them.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the tool.
Cookies
We use the following categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent; analytics and marketing cookies are off until you allow them.
- Strictly necessary — your session and your saved cookie choice. Always on; the site can't work without them.
- Analytics — optional; helps us understand aggregate usage.
- Marketing — optional; used only if you opt in.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the control (also linked in the footer). Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
Legal basis / grounds for processing
Under the GDPR we rely on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies, and on our legitimate interests (running and securing the service, rate-limiting abuse) for strictly necessary processing. Under the DPDP Act we process personal data on the basis of your consent and for the specified purposes above.
How long we keep data
We keep submitted URLs and public video metadata for as long as the library entry is published. Rate-limit records are pruned within days. Consent records are retained for audit purposes. We erase personal data once the purpose is served or on a valid erasure request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. DPDP Data Principals also have the right to nominate another person to exercise rights in the event of death or incapacity, and to grievance redressal. To exercise any right, contact us at [your email]; we aim to respond within the timelines required by law.
Grievance / complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, contact our grievance point of contact at [your email]. Under the DPDP Act, if unresolved, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India. In the EU/UK you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Third parties
Videos and thumbnails are served from LinkedIn's own content network (licdn.com); your browser requests them directly. We do not sell your personal data. Any analytics/marketing providers are only loaded after you opt in.
Content and copyright
This tool is intended for downloading public LinkedIn videos for personal, fair-use purposes. Please respect creators' copyright and LinkedIn's Terms of Service. If you are a rights holder and want a library entry removed, contact [your email].
Changes
We may update this notice; material changes to cookie purposes will re-prompt you for consent.
This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. Replace the bracketed contact details before launch, and have counsel review if you process data at scale.
